Remembering Yosra El-Essawy, the talented artist, nomadic free spirited photographer, born in London to Hesham(Her Father) and Laila(Her Mother), both of Egyptian roots. Yosra represented what many feared and still fear to do, “chasing dreams in the narrow tunnel”. These dreams lead her to being chosen as Beyoncé’s official world tour photographer. Sadly Yosra El-Essawy lost her battle to cancer October 2014.
A month before she turned 32, Yosra was diagnosed with stage 4, inoperable oeseophageal cancer.–A devastating news which came to her while on Beyonce’s ‘The Mrs Carter Show World Tour’. Although gone, these words she spoke will forever ring in my mind as a reflection of the journey of life, and the importance of leaving a positive mark in life.
“With too much to share in the last couple of months, it’s suffice to say it has been a very difficult time… But by the grace of God I feel like a new woman and have not felt so good in so long. Today I am in total awe of my life, of the beings that overflow it with love and peace and sincerity.“
Rest in Peace, Remembering Yosra El-Essawy, R.I.P: (July 3rd 1981-Oktober 25, 2014)
