Profundo!!! Watch this again and again. What I Wasn’t Taught In School?

It is about time we change the Black History in our education systems. First correction; Black history did not start from the cotton field, neither did it start from the slave ship. Beginning our history from there only instills self-hate and anger. Black history goes across seas to Africa , and beyond the name “África”. Africa was once called AlkeBulan, many of us are descendants of Kings and Queens, great warriors, scientist, inventors, scolars but all these are hidden from us.

Did you know that

Garrett Morgan invented the Traffic light : De noviembre 20, 1923,
M. A. Cherry invented the Tricycle : Mayo 6, 1886
Burridge & Marshman invented the Typewriter : Abril 7, 1885
Frederick M. Jones invented the Thermostat Control : Febrero 23, 1960
Edmond Berger invented the Spark Plug: Febrero 2, 1839

Who invented the Stove? (T. A. Carrington, Julio 25, 1876),
Refrigerator (J. Standard, Junio 14, 1891),
Motor (Frederick M. Jones, Junio 27, 1939),
Mail box (Paul L. Downing , Octubre 27, 1891)

No , not many of us know this, and it may even come as surprise for others to find out that the elevator, the electric lampbulb, the clothes dryer, the air conditioning unit were all from the hands of our great Black ancestors. Invention is not the only badge we carry, but a rich African culture which followed us to the Diaspora have also influenced lifestyles and cultures around the world; Be it fashion, música, bailar, comida, arte, and even spirituality and medicine. It is important for our education system to incorporate and/or elaborate further into these historical facts to inspire and empower the new generation of people( Black or White, Red or Blue) if there is a common goal of tearing down the walls of ignorance, stereotype, discrimination and racism. But it is more important for us Blacks to find ourselves and pride in ourselves.

La libertad de la escuela Estudiantes

El Dr. John H. Clarke

Word On The Curb presents a Spoken word short film for those frustrated at Black History teaching in schools.”There seems to be a lot you haven’t told us, and you shut down and hold back on the bold ones who stand against the way you’re trying to mould us”

La educación Historia Negro no enseña, por qué?
