She performed with Cuban composer and pianist Ernesto Lecuona. Her version of the song Siboney was the composer’s favorite. Her musical style of choice was bolero, and she sang in a sky-high range only attainable by birds in the sky. She was aptly called \u201cLa Alondra de la Cancion,\u201d or The Lark of Music.<\/p>\n
