Rapper and actor Nasir bin Olu Dara Jones, aka Nas, couldn\u2019t contain his excitement when he found out he won a National Sports Emmy for his ESPN documentary \u201cSurvival 1.\u201d In accepting the award, Nas proclaimed \u201cAfter all these years of making music, I am honoured to have this be the first award I ever won of this magnitude. An Emmy before a Grammy. Crazy (bleep)!\u201d<\/p>\n

Nas<\/a> from <a href=\"http:\/\/vimeo.com\/user2078992\">E60<\/a> on <a href=\"http:\/\/vimeo.com\">Vimeo<\/a>.<\/p>\nNas directed, narrated and scored the music for the documentary that follows two amputee victims of the Liberian civil war, who despite extreme adversity, were able to form a soccer team and eventually became champions.<\/p>\nWhile Nas has been producing acclaimed and inspirational music for decades now, he has been unable to garner the accolades he deserves. \u00a0Congrats to Nas on his momentous win.
