There have been numerous killing and mutilation of Albinos in Tanzania and in other countries. In the past year and a half, about 50 albinos have been mutilated in Tanzania. It has been reported that these brutal killings are been done for juju money (Spiritual money) as their body parts are
\nsold for witchdoctors to make potions which will make people wealthy. Apparently, there is a belief that Albinos have magical power to make people rich.
\nThis brutal activity is not only done in Tanzania, it has been noticed in other countries such as Burundi where a 6 year old albino was killed last month totaling the 8th in the Country.<\/p>\n

\u201cPeople should feel free to name those who are behind these barbaric killings and other criminal acts within their localities\u201dsaid President Jakaya Kikwete of Tanzania asking citizens to come out and name culprits.<\/p>\n

Actions are being taken however, we also have to do our part to create awareness and educate each other about Albinism.
\nAlbinos do not possess any power to make you rich, culturally misunderstood.<\/p>\n
