Born in Kinshasa, in the Congo Democratic Republic, Kyssi Wète grew up in Paris, where he learned acoustic guitar by himself, playing and singing with friends at school, then at University. If not coming from an artist environment and family, music was always a genuine passion for him. From the very beginning, his music was deeply rooted in reggae and ragga rhythms, but, in his personal and innovative way, he also more and more explores a multitude of rhythms and styles like pop, rumba, soul… So as his repertoire moves forward, Kyssi sometimes fires up the tempo of his songs to create fast dances rhythms and sometimes arranges more intimate pieces with sophisticated and inventive arrangements… The result is a captivating musical fusion, very festive on stage and he invests himself with no limits in each concert. Human kind is the major source of Kyssi’s inspiration. His lyrics are poetic and simple. In his music, he celebrates diversity, explores the common links between cultures, message of interracial harmony. With his unique warm voice, filled with emotion and intensity, he sings of love, friendship, respect and trust. Kyssi Wète is not only composing, writing and performing but also producing his music and taking care of the various elements related to his artistic development.
