John Garang de Mabior was a politician and rebel leader of Sudan. Born June 23, 1945 and died July 30, 2005
During the 1983-2005 second civil war in Sudan, he led the “Sudan People’s Liberation Army”.A peace agreement was made which made him a vice president of Sudan from January 2005 until his fatal helicopter (Ugandan presidential Mi-172) crush in July 30th 2005. Although his untimely death had an impact on civilians and the nation, his dream and fight for peace continued.
